Exciting News!

Good morning!

Last week, I attended the Business Boutique conference in Nashville and it. Was. Ah-MAZING! While there, I had the “a-ha!” moment. I designed this website to help overwhelmed women find peace in the chaos of life, but my posts are overwhelmingly long. To serve you better, I initiated a blog metamorphosis. I will still offer Jesus-centered life-hacks, mindset tips, and encouragement, but I will honor your time (and eyes) with shorter posts. Each will contain one actionable step, specifically designed to free you from the claws of overwhelm and guide you toward the peaceful, loving arms of Jesus.

Me with Christy Wright at the Business Boutique conference. Can you tell I was just a wee bit overjoyed to meet her?

I am also excited to announce I am writing the upcoming companion book for my “Overflowing Women: Pour” class! For the next few weeks, I will post weekly excerpts from it that will help you streamline your life and create margin for God to move in it. Once I finish the book, I plan to resume posting twice per week.

I learned the hard way that the woman is the thermostat of the home, and it’s best for her to run at a steady temperature, rather than burning people with anger or anxiety, or freezing them with her chill. Overwhelm breaks our thermostats and makes them run all wonky, but together, with help from God, we can fix them. My prayer is for you to use this site as a tool on your thermostat healing journey.

“Then, because so many people were coming and going that they did not even have a chance to eat, he said to them, ‘Come with me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest.’ So they went away by themselves in a boat to a solitary place.” – Mark 6:31-32 NIV

Your tip of the week: Treat yourself! Whether it’s a hot bath, prayer session, YouTube Yoga class, massage, or mani-pedi, schedule some uninterrupted time to refresh your spirit. Invite God into that time. Even Jesus had to sneak away to rejuvenate himself, so it’s safe to say, we also need to. If you can’t get away for a longer period, start small and shoot for fifteen minutes. You deserve this.

Remember: Self-care is the opposite of selfish. When you refill your cup with God’s restful goodness, you can love your neighbors even better, with the joy that overflows from your heart.

Prayer: God, help this woman recognize her need for you. Help her honor her body and mind with renewing peaceful moments – not just for herself, but for You and the people around her. Amen.
