Overflowing Jesus Journal: Day 15

My ultimate goal with the Overflowing Jesus Journal prompts is to post one each day for 40 days. With that being said, a lot of time, effort, and energy goes into each of these. I’m taking a week off from work and blogging to rest and rejuvenate, so I am going to schedule simpler posts for days 15-22, while I’m off. The thought-provoking prompts will still be there to guide on your prayer journaling journey, just not the accompanying stories or fancy formatting. 

The whole point of this blog is to help busy women overcome overwhelm and find balance, peace, joy, and rest, so I’d be a hypocrite if I didn’t take time to connect with God and family and care for myself!

Fortunately, I can schedule these ahead of time to auto-post every morning. I’m also taking a social media break, so I won’t be getting on Facebook to post them to my personal page, if that’s where you normally see them. If you haven’t already, please subscribe below to have these delivered straight to your inbox.

Read the verse, below. Really turn it over in your mind and it and let its meaning steep into your soul. When you’re ready, write the following as a prayer:

Matthew 11:28 – Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”

  • Do you trust God enough to rest in him, or do you feel like everything will fall apart if you take some time off? Somewhere in between? 
  • Thank God for bringing you understanding and healing on why you feel that way. Pray to grow in your trust with him.
  • Think about this: What fills your cup? Write one way you can incorporate something cup-filling into your day, to rest or rejuvenate yourself. Make an easily actionable plan and do it. Today. Write the plan down.
  • Tell God three things you’re grateful for from the last 24 hours.

No pressure though. If you’re crunched on time, you can also treat them like a buffet, and only write on the ones that inspire you or tug at your spirit. This is your journey, I’m thrilled that this little blog is a part of it!
