40 Days of Transformation, Complete!

We. Made. It! My goal was to post 40 prayer journal prompts in 40 days, and friend, today is Day 40!!

If you stuck with me through the whole journey, we’ve done a ton of introspection and reflection and learned a lot about ourselves, God, and his love for us.

Now it’s time to look back and see how far you’ve come! I don’t want to take up your time with a lengthy written post today because it’s much more important for you to read your previous journal entries. They are documented proof of God working in our life!

Overflowing Jesus Journal: Day 40

Pray for wisdom and insight, read the following verses, and let them sink into your soul. Then, go back and reread your journal entries. You should have a ton of them by now!

James 1:2-4 NIV – 2 Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, 3 because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. 4 Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.

Philippians 1:6 (NIV) – Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.

When you’re ready, write a reflection thanking God for what you learned about Him, yourself, and others through this process. If needed, you can use any of the following to guide your writing:

  • How did you grow?
  • What did you heal?
  • Did you let go of any harmful beliefs or have any startling revelations?
  • How did God use this to move you?

Finally, pen a prayer for someone else by name and thank God for how He’ll use this experience to help you grow in your relationship and walk with him!

I’m so proud of you!! Thanks for taking this wild prayer journaling journey with me! I’d love to hear about your experiences in the comments, below!

If this is your first time here and you’re kind of confused, welcome!

We just finished 40 days of prayer journal prompts, but you can still join us! Just start with Day 1, which explains the whole concept. If you like, you can do the posts after Day 1, in chronological order, to get the full healing experience. Invite your friends to do it with you, too! To move through them, just scroll toward the bottom of the post until you see “Next Post,” and click the accompanying link.

No pressure though! If you’re crunched on time, you can treat them like a buffet and only write on the ones that inspire you or tug at your spirit. Let the Lord guide you through your process. This is your journey and I’m thrilled that this little blog is a part of it! Feel free to share the blog post links to your social media. You never know who needs encouragement.

Now that the 40 days of journal prompts are completed, I’ll publish new blog posts once per week, on Thursday mornings. I’m working on a big exciting project – one that will benefit you! – so I had to rearrange my schedule to allow myself the time needed to focus on that. (Can’t wait to tell you about it in the coming weeks! Be on the lookout!)

No worries, though! If you want the convenience of having encouraging posts delivered straight to your inbox the instant they publish, click below to subscribe.

Thanks for reading and have a beautiful day! Be blessed, my friend!

  1. This journaling journey has been so productive, not easy, but very rewarding! It took a few days to read through the 40 days, but it was amazing to read through the journey. To be able to see what I’ve seen in myself and compare it to what God sees is such a growing experience. What a beautiful blessing this has been! What a faithful and loving God we serve!

    1. I’m so glad it made a difference! Self reflection is rarely easy, but doing it hand in hand with God is one of the most worthwhile, transformative pursuits. I think when we’re going through everyday life, we how no idea about the changes God makes in us because they’re so “small” and incremental. The journal is a chronicle of your journey and provides before and after “snapshots” of your soul from a short time. It’s pretty cool!!
